Financial Protection
We know that people can sometimes be concerned with paying money to an internet business and various recent high-profile holiday company failures have done nothing to improve the image of the industry.
However, we would like to reassure you that your money is safe with us and we undertake a number of important steps to offer you the correct financial protection. Please note that this is usually not the case when you book elements independently and so booking through a reputable tour operator (such as Karibuni) is often safer than “doing it yourself”.
Karibuni Ltd have been in operation since 2001, and meet the requirements of the 1992 EU Package Travel Regulations for Tour Operators regarding financial protection.
What does this mean for our customers?
We take all payments for holidays booked with us to an independently operated UK based trust account. Our customers’ money is only released from this account to Karibuni Ltd. after their trip has been completed.
This means that Karibuni Ltd has no access to money paid for holidays that have not yet been delivered.
This money is held in trust, and is not accounted for as a sale by Karibuni Ltd until this happens. This means that in the unlikely event of insolvency, money for future holidays would be returned to customers in full and would not be pursuable by any companies or individuals who were owed money by Karibuni Ltd.
This arrangement applies to all payments you make to us, whether by bank transfer, cheque or credit card.
For additional peace of mind we are able to take payments by credit card; this gives you an extra layer of financial protection backed by Visa or Mastercard.
For specific details of this protection please refer to your bank or other provider of your specific credit card. Please note that for all credit card payments there is a card transaction fee of either 2.5% or a fixed amount specified during trip booking.
