Walking Weekends in the French Alps
The French Alps are perfect for walking weekends away with
groups, clubs, friends or family. There is so much to do, so many stunning
walking routes and plenty of festivals and events through summer to keep you
busy from the minute you arrive to the second you leave!
Our walking weekends in France are growing in popularity due to the convenience of short flight times to Geneva and short transfer times between Geneva airport and the Lodge (just one hour). Once here your every need will be met by our experienced Walk Weekender team.
Walking Options
We talk to you on the evening of your arrival to plan walks around you and your group depending on your experience, fitness and hopes for the weekend. We have a large range of walks available for all levels of hiker. From high mountain pastures and alpine meadows with stunning views over the Alps to forest tracks, challenging ridge walks and high peaks to bag - we have something for everyone. We will generally guide you on your walks over the first couple of days to show you the area, so you don’t have to worry about map reading unless you want to. We run you out to your start point and pick you up at the end of the day every day, bringing you home for tea and homemade cakes.
Walking Weekend Accommodation
Our French walking weekend base is our Aravis Lodge – a
catered chalet sleeping up to 40 people. Our professional chefs ensure that you
never go out onto the mountain hungry – and the plentiful wine included with
dinner ensures good conversation every evening. If
you’ve still got the energy
after a day’s walking you can visit nearby La Clusaz after dinner for a couple
of drinks or a dance!
We are based just half an hour from Annecy too, allowing you to visit the old medieval town and beautiful clear lake for a swim when you’ve done enough walking.
Walking Weekend Packages
All our walking weekends in France run from Thursday evening to Monday night ensuring you get 4 full days walking in the stunning mountains. Our packages include airport transfers to/from Geneva airport, ensuite accommodation in our catered chalet, 3 course dinner with wine, afternoon tea and cakes and breakfast and hosted walking on at least 2 days of the trip; as well as the experience and support of our professional team.
If your group or club is interested in taking part in a challenge weekend why not take part in our Belier Challenge weekend over August Bank Holiday. Raise money for charity or just complete the challenge for fun. See our Belier Challenge page for full details.
