The clue to what you can expect from up-and-coming adventure tour company, Karibuni, is in the name. Karibuni literally means ‘you are all welcome’ in Swahili.

Established five years ago with the spirit of Karibuni as its guiding principle, the company specialises in helping busy people to derive maximum enjoyment from their limited leisure time by providing a flexible and personal service.

Karibuni offers winter and summer catered chalet holidays for those who enjoy skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, walking and various multi-activity challenges in the beautiful French Aravis Mountains.

These holidays are typical of the Karibuni team’s ‘can do’ approach – with all guests able to enjoy transfers from Geneva airport in less than an hour with minimal waiting time. On arrival at the chalet, it’s a real treat to discover a cosy bar, a well-maintained gym and a fully equipped ski and bike room, so that guests can be fitted at their leisure. Many Karibuni guests also find it a refreshing change to be able to change their equipment at any time during their stay, or simply to enjoy trying something different for a day or two.

In the mountains, the friendly Karibuni team are always on hand to help with any queries and offer advice on the best places for downhill biking, off-piste skiing and where to find the best views. They also regularly get out and about with the guests to show them round the mountains in person.

In addition to the chalet-based operation in France, Karibuni runs a comprehensive range of activities in the UK, including the Three Peaks Challenge, Snowdonia, Lake District and New Forest multi-activity weekends, as well as bespoke corporate (or small group) adventure trips and hospitality events. These include Royal Ascot, Cowes Week and the Henley Regatta.

This year Karibuni has entirely revamped its website (www.karibuni.co.uk) and, in 2006/07, there are plans to expand even further with some exciting new challenges, adventures, and ‘big trips’.

The scale of Karibuni’s success can be measured by the increasing guest numbers – 800 skiers last season, with over 1500 guests for the whole year, many of whom were repeat visitors.
