Plus points?
Great terrain on the Balme; traditional village with plenty of chalet-style accommodation; great place to mix family activities with hard-core skiing and riding; convenient access from Geneva and Annecy.
Minus points?
Crowds on weekends; poor snow on lower slopes due to low altitude; er, that's it.

"La Clusaz is one of Haute Savoie's best kept secrets..."
"It is an idyllic unspoilt ski area. Ideal family resorts with lovely peaceful slopes into hidden valleys. Excellent off-piste with spectacular views of the Aravis range".

"The compactness of the village, its wraparound views of ski runs, forests and peaks, its old winding side streets and leisurely pace make La Clusaz a winner for skiers or boarders who wish to get away from the hustle of modern life. Children are welcomed, and families will find this resort easier to manage than most. Don't expect to find noisy, swinging nightlife except on weekends-here the emphasis is on lingering over dinner with family and friends."

La Clusaz lies in an open sunny valley beneath the jagged peaks of the Aravis mountain range. 132km of groomed trails stretch out over five inter-connected ski areas, each with its own unique character. Woodland trails give way to open bowls and much of the off-piste can be reached from the lift stations, involving very little climbing. The nature of the terrain, much of it meadow-land and grazing during the summer months, ensures that even with a light snow covering the ski area can be fully accessed.
The Irish Times - Fiona Ness, February 2006
"The stars twinkle more brightly above La Clusaz, where 400 hectares of skiing area stretches across five mountain ranges. And why wouldn't they? The people are friendlier, the air cleaner and the food more desirable than in any other region in France. Or so we decide during our stay in the heart of the Aravis massif".
So come and discover this "secret" resort for yourself - you won't be disappointed.
