The friendly relaxed atmosphere, spacious living areas and delicious food goes a long way towards explaining why guests return to the
Aravis Lodge time and time again. Sleeping 35 guests, our 100 year old catered chalet offers everything you could wish for on your skiing holiday.
To us you are not just a room number!
Our friendly team are always on hand to ensure that every query is answered and all your needs are met. They will sometimes be available to ski with you too, showing you the best runs on the mountain and the nicest restaurants for lunch.
An important part of a holiday is the food - our chef team produce delicious cakes for afternoon tea and wonderful 3 course meals with wine 6 nights a week, allowing for one chalet night off. We cater for all dietary requirements and are also proud to have recently been accredited by the Vegetarian Society meaning you just need to ask if you require our Veg Soc menu.
The chalet offers a large communal area including a comfy lounge with squashy sofas, plenty of books and games and wonderful views down the valley towards La Tournette mountain. The separate TV/DVD room with SKY is popular after a hard day's skiing, or if you're feeling a little more lively the well stocked bar is the place for you, containing table football and other bar games as well as SKY for big sports matches that just can't be missed!
The dining area is large enough to seat 40 people comfortably for a social dinner 6 nights of your stay and also has tea and coffee making facilities to use at any time. On chalet night off we can book you a table at a local restaurant or you can get takeaway pizza if you prefer.
The ground floor contains the onsite
ski hire room - meaning queues in ski hire shops are a thing of the past!
No matter what time you arrive we'll make sure you're kitted out ready to
hit the slopes first thing next day. And you can even take your glass of wine
down with you whilst fitting your skis!
Our 'well being' zone is also downstairs - the well equipped gym, sauna and massage room are all available for you to take advantage of during your stay.
Every bedroom has a choice of twin/double or family accommodation, an ensuite bathroom and a lovely view of the surrounding mountains. Some rooms have terrace access too or small balconies.
We have a playroom for children containing books, games, toys and a place to chill out away from the adults, as well as a Nintendo for those big kids amongst you! There is access to our sun terrace through the playroom too.
The Aravis Lodge is set in the village of St Jean de Sixt, which has 2 restaurants, 3 bars, various useful shops such as a pharmacy, tabac and greengrocer, post office with ATM and a Savoyard church. The ski bus runs to both Grand Bornand and La Clusaz main ski lifts every half an hour, getting you there in just 5 minutes - making St Jean a convenient base for your ski or snowboard holiday.
