Learn to Snowboard
Learning to snowboard is a nerve wracking time! Lots of our team have persevered however and it's payed off big time as they enjoy nothing more than playing in the snowpark, hitting big kickers and cruising the powder off piste on their boards. We're confident that after you get over the initial scariness you'll be joining them. We all know that the first few days snow boarding can be a bit tiring as there's no getting away from the fact you will fall over.a lot! However you'll soon improve and we'll make sure we're with you all the way to make it as simple and easy as we can.
We'll start by meeting you at the airport and having your lift pass ready for you as soon as you arrive. We'll fit your snow board and boots and give you a lift to meet your instructor, whom we can introduce personally as he works in house with us. There may be up to five others in your group lesson - all of the same standard as you, although often there are less. The maximum number of people in a group is six however, allowing you plenty of time with your instructor to learn the ins and outs of boarding.
At the end of the day we'll collect you from the slopes in our minibuses and transport you back for afternoon tea and cake where we can discuss the day and how you fared. Later you can enjoy a beer in the bar where we'll commiserate with your bruises before serving you a 3 course dinner with wine.
In order to learn to snowboard you need a few certain items, although if you forget them - don't worry - we have lots of spares in the chalet.
Important things to bring:
- Waterproof boarding jacket
- Warm ski socks
- Ski gloves or mittens
- Salopettes or ski trousers
- Thermal underclothes or thin, warm layers
- Fleece to wear under boarding jacket
- Goggles and Sunglasses
- Sun cream and lip protection
- Small rucksack to carry your things with you on the slopes
- Camera!!
We would also recommend you bring some wrist protection and maybe other padding too as it can hurt when you fall over and over again. We have helmets you can hire to protect your head.
