Chilterns Mountain Biking Weekend
The rolling Chiltern Hills are perfect for a mountain biking
weekend away. They are so close to London that you can pop your bike on the
train and easily be there after work on Friday. With plenty of rolling forest
tracks to keep you entertained you can lose yourself in the beauty of the
Chilterns and end up anywhere from Henley-on-Thames to Amersham, Great
Missenden or anywhere in between. The hills extend 76km North from the River
Thames in Oxfordshire to Hitchen in Hertfordshire.
Chiltern Hills Bike Park
In addition to the miles and miles of forest tracks and bridleways there is a specific bike park near Wendover called Aston Hill. Offering 5 downhill tracks and a 2 part cross-country loop as well as a 4X for more experienced riders this is a dedicated section of woodland run in conjunction with the forestry commission to ensure that mountain bikers can ride the best man-made terrain possible. Open 7 days a week this Pay to Ride park could keep you busy for an entire week, let alone a single weekend!
Chilterns Mountain Biking Weekend Packages
We love this area but have less time to enjoy mountain biking weekends in the Chilterns these days as we are now based in the French Alps. If you would like to come and explore our mtb tracks and trails in the Alps visit our website www.bikeweekender.com or call us on 0845 557 5983 for more details.
We do recommend visiting the Chilterns however and suggest you give these guys a call to help you with your Chiltern mountain biking weekend.
