Snowdonia Mountain Biking WeekendsSnowdonia National Park is an ideal base for mountain biking weekends and breaks. Over the last few years more and more trails have opened specifically for mountain biking, offering a range of tracks and routes for all abilities.

Snowdonia Mountain Biking Routes

Some of the most well known mtb routes are:

The Marin Trail

A 25km trail near Betws-y-Coed in the Gwydr Forest. A route for experienced riders, this route should take between 2 and 4 hours and incorporates about 250metres of climbing along forest tracks. An easier route for less experienced riders is the Llyn Elsi Trail – a 10km trail based in the same woodland vicinity.

Coed y Brenin

This was the first dedicated mountain biking trail centre in the UK and is still the biggest. It has 7 routes covering over 140km in total, with something for every ability.

Nant yr Arian

3 fantastic trails with sweeping views, ridge riding and plenty of technical sections for those looking for them.

Afan Forest Park

A great family base for biking. Incorporating Glyncorrwg mountain bike centre it offers over 110km of trails plus other activities. You can camp here too!

Twrch TrailMountain Biking in Snowdonia

Cwmcarn centre offers the Twrch trail – 15km of single track with stunning views over the Bristol Channel.

There is also plenty more mountain biking to be had in Snowdonia, including Mount Snowdon itself which stands 1085 metres high. We must stress, however, that this can get very busy with walkers so do be very careful in your descents and, as always, try to keep erosion to a minimum to protect this beautiful National Park for the future.
