Cartier International Polo - Sunday 27th July 2008
Join us as we enjoy a day out watching the premium event in the polo
calendar! The Cartier Polo day is one of the most prestigious and exclusive
of the social and sporting scene and is regularly attended by royalty
and celebrities from all around the world.
The Itinerary
We make our way from London Hammersmith at 9:30am to the beautiful
Windsor Great Park. We start by opening bottles of chilled bubbly and
enjoy a first drink of the morning.
You then have time to enjoy the spectacle, or maybe wander on and around
the field taking in the party atmosphere and picnic scene (and of course
the glamourous shops and stalls!) before the polo begins. Keep an eye
out for famous people as you make your way to the polo pitch for the
morning match. For the last few years this match has frequently featured
Prince Harry playing for his father’s side - The Prince of Wales
team.
At lunchtime make your way back to our base where we will have a full
picnic lunch waiting. Your meal will be freshly prepared using quality
ingredients and will feature varied luxury deli-rolls and a choice of
mixed salads, plus strawberries and cream. This is accompanied by plenty
of red or white wine and soft drinks which you can enjoy before making
your way to the field for the afternoon chukkers.
The polo continues after lunch with the main international match –
ENGLAND vs AUSTRALIA. This is polo
playing at its highest level and you will be close to the action, including
an opportunity to walk onto the pitch during breaks and half time intervals
to help with the tradition of “treading the divots”.
After the game you will return to your coach for a quick afternoon
tea of scones, cream and jam and soft drinks before departing for London
with an estimated arrival time back in Hammersmith of about 7.30pm.
We don't offer Grandstand seats as part of our package. If you would
like a reserved grandstand seat however, you can contact the polo club
directly on www.guardspoloclub.com
and purchase one, subject to availability, at a cost of approximately
£30-£40.
